Coffee Break | Cafe Astoria (Saint Paul, Minnesota)

It was a much needed coffee break as I had been extremely busy the past few weeks to take any breaks to enjoy a nice cup of coffee. Cafe Astoria in Saint Paul, Minnesota has been on my list for quite some time. When I heard the 24k latte was back for a short amount of time, I couldn't wait to jump at the chance of trying this cup of gold (literally). It's now on their permanent menu! (woo hoo!) Not only is it good to look at, it taste good! I enjoyed it very much--probably one of the best coffees I've ever had. It's got a mixture of sweet and nutty. I would definitely give it a good stir (after you snap that picture) because the almond syrup used to sweeten it will settle on the bottom, which will cause your last few sips to be extra sweet.

I also ordered a smoothie bowl since I hadn't eaten. this is the Berry Berry Berry smoothie bowl topped with fresh blueberries and bananas, goji berries, granola, flax and chia seeds. Although not on the menu, mine also contained what I could only make out as dried blueberries.

The smoothie was amazingly good! It was cold and refreshing. However, the coldness of the smoothie caused the dried blueberries to freeze and I found myself struggling to enjoy it after a while. The smoothie went down smooth (obviously) while I was left with frozen dried bites of fruit in my mouth. It was fine once I started eating around those frozen ones, or spitting them out on the side. They have other smoothie bowls on the menu I'd love to try next time, but I'd asked them to leave out any dried fruits. In addition to food choices, they also have oatmeal, crepes, and salads! This is definitely a coffee stop I would recommend hitting up more than once!

My sister and I headed to the Union Depot Downtown Saint Paul to attend the Lowertown Pop event to support local MN shops and then headed to our aunt's baby shower.

I have to admit, my wardrobe does not consist of much pink because I feel pink can be too girly for my taste, but this pink blazer! I love it because I can easily dress it up or down, and it was perfect to wear to a baby shower given my aunt is having a baby girl.
